SuperSay was the original native macOS speech app I built. It proved the idea that selected text could become a fast, local listening action instead of a copy-paste ritual or a cloud API request.
It is staying public because it is part of the work. People found it through search, used it, linked to it, and reached out about it. The name and the project are not being erased.
But SuperSay is now frozen. Voqora is the current product. It carries the active release process, current documentation, and the clearer product direction: listen to selected text from anywhere on your Mac, turn long PDFs into resumable audiobooks, and keep the core speech path on your own machine.

Moving from SuperSay to Voqora
The migration is intentionally simple.
- Install Voqora.
- If Voqora finds SuperSay in Applications, choose whether to import compatible playback and appearance preferences.
- Confirm Voqora works for you.
- Move SuperSay to Trash yourself when you are ready.
Neither app silently deletes the other. Voqora does not copy documents, audio, history, credentials, email, custom shortcuts, or privacy choices from SuperSay. It only offers the small preference import you explicitly approve.
Why Voqora
Voqora is the same product line with a more focused public home and a more complete release experience. The product is designed around a simple habit:
- Select text.
- Press
Command + Shift + .. - Listen.
For longer material, Voqora turns PDFs into audiobooks that save your progress locally. It includes voice, speed, volume, global shortcut, local-history, and WAV-export controls without making the core speech feature depend on an account.

The legacy release
SuperSay remains available under its original public license as a frozen release. There will be no experimental or private multilingual work added to it. Its job now is simple: remain a stable record of the original project and give existing users a clear path to the current product.
